Welcome to the Kent County Department of Public Safety's Division of Emergency Management.

Our mission is to enhance the safety and resilience of Kent County through comprehensive emergency management. We are dedicated to safeguarding our community by focusing on five key areas: Mitigation, Recovery, Planning, Response, and Preparedness.

Mitigation: We work proactively to reduce the potential impact of disasters by identifying risks and implementing measures to minimize their effects on our community.

Recovery: After a disaster, our team coordinates efforts to restore the community to normalcy, providing assistance and support to those affected.

Planning: Our strategic planning ensures that we are prepared for any emergency. We develop and maintain comprehensive plans to address a wide range of potential threats and hazards.

Response: In the event of an emergency, we are ready to act swiftly and efficiently. Our response efforts are coordinated with local, state, and federal agencies to provide the best possible outcome for our residents.

Preparedness: We engage in ongoing training, education, and exercises to ensure that our community and responders are ready for any situation. Our goal is to build a culture of preparedness within Kent County.

Through collaboration with local agencies, community organizations, and residents, we strive to create a safe and resilient environment for everyone in Kent County. Your safety is our top priority.
