Streamlined Payment Processing for Deeds Records--Effective September 19, 2024

DOVER-- Kent County Recorder of Deeds Eugenia Thornton announces a new, streamlined payment process for downloading and printing from the County’s Land Management Records System, USLandRecords.com

USLandRecords.com is a secure database consisting of property records in Kent County.  While viewing the database online is free, the documents are watermarked “Unofficial Copy.”  To print or download an official copy without the watermark, users must first register on the site, and then pay with a credit or debit card.  This keeps the documents more secure, according to Thornton.

“In recent past, payment processing was handled by PayPal,” she said.  “Effective September 19, 2024, the vendor will use its own payment interface.”

Thornton suggests users who download or print more than 38 pages per month take a monthly subscription for $75.  Those who print or download less than 37 pages may register as “casual” and pay $2.00 per page.  “People may switch between casual and 30-day subscription at will to save money,” she said.

There are no credit card processing fees added, only the costs per page.

To learn more, contact Thornton at 302-744-2321 or visit the Professional Library on the  Deeds page of the Kent County Website to view fact sheets along with detailed instructions for enrolling, paying, or switching between casual and 30-day subscriptions.

“People are still welcome to come to the Deeds office where we will print your documents for $1.00 per page,” Thornton said.  “These are your records, and you should know what is in them.”
